p.s. One of the areas we can get out of balance easily is with our health. If you feel like your body has suffered as your business has grown, check out this second video I filmed by the White House.

Your video clip is very true. Its very hard to do other things in your life when your
thinking nothing but what is my next task for my business. It seems like lately that’s all I’ve been doing working on the computer. Is it worth it? Being that I’m still new
at it I still haven’t seen any results for my efforts.

Thanks for the reminder to balance with respect! It’s easy to let distractions disturb focus on both sides of the equation.
When you live alone – my family is all grown and married – it makes things that much harder. With no one around, you sort of forget there is a world ‘out there’ that you need to be a part of!
This post sure hits home. The first two years of working on my online business put my life completely out of balance. And to think that I transitioned from offline to online so I could create more freedom in my life.
If you would have asked me 18 months ago if balance was possible in life I would have said no way! But after re-evaluating my goals, how I define success, eliminating distracting projects, and focusing only on the people who I really enjoy working with and supporting, I have created balance in my life over the past 11 months and it TOTALLY ROCKS!
Balance is possible. Set a schedule for yourself and stick to it. Know the hours in your day when you are most productive and make the most out of that time. Increase the amount of productivity time in your day by performing short bouts of exercise. Recognize that time spent with your family or recharging on your own, will lead to increased productivity when you work.
You can do it! Even more important… You deserve it!

Thanks Bob! It was just the message I needed to hear going into the holidays! Bless You.
Hey Bob,
Love the intro and outro splash…nice.
How do you get family to respect your business time when working from home?
Bribe them!
It’s the only way to be sure…

Bob,
This is always and has always been an issue. One of the ways I’ve resolved it since my wife does not have a formal role in my business is to do something with her that I detest but is dear to most woman as I perceive it.
I actually set apart Sat morn that is devoted entirely to her. She can make any choice she wants. We go to breakfast at a restaurant of her choice. We discuss the topics and concerns she has. Then comes the highlight of the day for her which is like a polar plunge to me.
I accompany her on a “shopping” trip to any and all stores she chooses. I actually go into the stores with her where everything is ‘wonderful’(?).
She knows that at 1 pm, the chariot turns into a pumpkin but at least the weekend has started off in a date mode.
We do other events that I have absolutley no interest in but I do try to keep Sat mornings inviolate.
Bob, you’re discussing such an important concept. Not only is it important to keep to your business time schedule, but you must also make sure what you are doing is actually helping you to grow your business in some ways. I know I am the queen of procrastination. I can play on twitter, facebook and do courses all day, if I don’t watch myself.
