Most people have it all wrong when it comes to affiliate marketing.
They stress the short term goal (making money) instead of the long term (building a real business). And that is crippling our results.
If you want to make it online, you need to realize this simple fact: the only way your business grows is if you focus your energy on promoting your valuable services before anybody else’s products.
How does that work with affiliate marketing, you may be asking?
Well, most people will teach you how to promote products using pay-per-click advertising, free traffic exchanges, etc.
They will likely tell you how to write excellent emails or blog reviews to talk up a product.
But the secret I’m going to tell you now will result in ten times more results.
Do you want to know what it is?
The secret to effective long term affiliate marketing is promoting yourself as a credible source of information first, and the products you are recommending second. The good news is, you can do this at the same time.
Sure, people will buy on the spur of the moment. But most of us want to know what we are getting and if someone else has already benefitted from the product on the other side of the Buy Now button.
So what you really need to be “selling” with affiliate marketing is your trust and credibility.
Almost 100% of the time, people who buy from your recommendations are going to do so because you are the one recommending it, not because it’s a great product.
And when they do buy, they’ll know after using the product (assuming it is a great product), that you are the one they should be turning to for their buying choices.
A lot of my coaching clients have told me that they are afraid of coming across as a sales person.
And to that I reply that they have good reason to fear.
People don’t want to interact with sales people, or more precisely, people who are trying to sell them something in order to get paid. Just think of the last time you were approached in a store at the mall.
However, they do want to buy stuff that helps them (or their business), and they want to know that what they buy is the right choice.
So instead of coming across as a sales person, you need to come across as the best source of information for your area of expertise.
And to do that, you just need to speak from truth and experience.
Do that and you will win every time!
This is just one of many fundamentals you will build your business around when you spend 8 weeks learning the real methods to succeed with affiliate marketing.
