As a teacher of internet marketing, I strive to help you get the word out about your products and services in profitable ways.

But an important part of generating a growing income is to partner with relevant products and services that you simply can’t offer yourself.

And that means incorporating affiliate marketing into the mix of your service to your customers and clients.

Usually you hear people raving about affiliate marketing as if it’s the only thing you ever have to do. And still others shout from the rooftops that you have to build your own information product line and only sell your own products and services.

As Usual The Truth Is In The Middle

If you have your own products, smart affiliate marketing can increase your bottom line by 50% or more. And if you don’t have your own products yet, promoting other people’s products first in the right way gives you an opportunity to discover what people really want to buy.

I’ll be teaching this hybrid system of information product development and affiliate marketing at the Online Profits Academy in February. But today, I’d like to give you a big tip on my favorite affiliate program to promote.

The reason I like it so much is because it can be used by practically any business owner to increase their revenue.

What is it?

It’s promoting an autoresponder service like Aweber (or whatever you happen to be using).

If you’re providing services to other business owners, it’s an easy match. They’ll want to know what you’re using in your own email marketing campaigns so they can duplicate your success.

If you’re serving customers who do not have their own businesses (at least not that you know of), then it may seem a bit of a stretch. However, in today’s economy, the number of people who are starting their own businesses or connecting to direct sales/network marketing is accelerating. They also could benefit from your recommendation of a good autoresponder.

Where To Promote

Obviously, you want to keep your own products and services front and center for your customers. But in the right places, a link to the autoresponder service and list building training can be quite profitable without being annoying.

For example, you might link to the autoresponder at the bottom of your own email messages. Not all of them – but maybe 1 out of every 4 or 5 messages.

You may also want to link to it on the confirmation page when people initially sign up to your list. After you let them know to go check their inbox for the confirmation message, you can let people know that their email is kept secure and the messages quickly delivered by (insert autoresponder name and link).

And of course, if you do any kind of training to help business owners get better results, then it’s a natural fit inside your content.

Add Another Dimension Of Revenue

To kick your revenues up another notch in this same area, recommend list building training to go along with your preferred autoresponder service.

This serves both you and your customers very well.

It helps them first and foremost because they can effectively develop their email list and profit from the strategies faster. They learn the ins and outs of autoresponders and list building, which helps them be more successful too.

But it also helps you, in a couple of ways.

First as an affiliate it’s great because autoresponders typically pay you a commission on each month’s payment. The longer your referrals stick around, the bigger your revenue.

And as a business owner it’s great because you don’t have to spend the time actually teaching this to your customers. They learn it through the other person’s product/service, share the profits with you, and free up your time to deliver the products and services that you do best.

What Other Services Are Used In Your Industry?

I hope this starts to get your wheels turning not just about increasing your income as an affiliate of autoresponders, but start thinking about other things you use in your business on a regular basis.

Apply the same strategy to those tools and services as well.

As always, your comments are welcome below!
