If you’re tied into the internet marketing universe, you’re likely seeing TweetGlide exploding onto the scene. TweetGlide is a free software program from Mike Filsaime that combines the functionality of a useful Twitter App with a viral advertising/referral system to help you promote your business.
I’d like to share my initial opinions about it, to give you a better idea if TweetGlide is for you.
In brief:
Pros
- Free
- Works/looks like TweetDeck
- Ads are only seen by other TweetGlide members
- TweetGlide members who see ads are likely on Twitter for business
- Referral program for increased ad views
- Affiliate program
- Easy to remember affiliate link
- URL shortener
- Premium upgrade option special offer is cheap
- Premium ads include longer messages and color
Cons
- Ads
- Works like TweetDeck
- Can not control what is said with the “Tweet my affiliate link” option
- Money and Twitter have been hard to marry openly
- Unproven how long people will use it
I’ll explain more about the pros and cons soon after I’ve tested it out more, but since it’s free and the ads you run are only in TweetDeck it’s worth trying out without fear.
Test out Tweet Glide for yourself and let me know what you think with a comment below!

So, it only works if one uses Tweet Deck?
Never could get into Tweet Deck.
Hi Bob,
The pros outweigh the cons. And the people who download it know they will see ads, so I do not think its a big deal. If they don’t want ads, then they don’t have to download it. Here has been my experience with it in the last 24hrs: I downloaded it, tweeted the “make money” message and made $97 while I slept. :) That is no promise anyone reading this will make money..but it is possible.. (I only have 6K followers)

Hey Chuck – you don’t need to have TweetDeck to use TweetGlide. However, the set up is nearly identical, so I’m saying if you are already using TweetDeck you’ll know how to use TweetGlide right away. Otherwise, you’ll have a short learning curve to using TweetGlide to get used to the interface.

I just wrote a comment similar to this in my own blog…”What is tweetglide and why am I going ga ga over it? Tweetglide is the newest twitter application with cool features that lets you keep in touch with all your twitter and facebook followers. In a dusty heap of twitter applications that are getting launched and trashed everyday, tweetglide comes as a refreshing piece of application which is a delight to use”.
This could be an excellent tool with scope for more developments for the IM community
