This is part 5 of the 6-part series on creating your own affiliate program. If you missed a previous segment, see the links at the bottom of today’s lesson.

Getting your affiliates is one thing – getting them to promote your products and services is a different story. We’ll talk about motivating them in the final part of this series.

But today, let me share with you the biggest tip about getting people to promote:

You have to make it super easy for someone to promote your products.

This is accomplished primarily by having a suite of promo tools available to your affiliates. When you give an affiliate promo tools, you save them a lot of time. You also demonstrate how serious you are about making them money.

Ideally, you should have 10-15 types of promo tools, and each of those types should have a couple of variations. This way, not everyone’s promotion will look exactly the same.

Your promo tools should also encourage people to use them right away, but also implement them in a “set and forget” manner.

Here are my 3 favorite promo tools that I typically provide to my affiliates, and that I always enjoy using as an affiliate myself.

  • Autoresponder mailing
  • Fast Action Bonus Box
  • Viral Video

The Email That Never Quits – Autoresponder message

Write up 2-5 different messages that your affiliate can use to email their subscribers. Many affiliates will copy and paste it in a 1-time promo. But the better thing to do is to encourage your affiliate to put it in as an autoresponder message to their primary/most compatible list of subscribers. This way, they can put it in today as say message 6, and all of their subscribers will get that message – even several months and years from now.

You can either write several different introductory emails, so that it’s less likely for all your affiliates to use the same one. Or, you can do a 1-2 combo autoresponder (which works extremely well). This is where your affiliate actually includes 2 of your messages in a row in their autoresponder series. The first one gives the main details of the recommendation/benefits of your product. And the second comes out a day or two later and reminds them to go get it, give you feedback, etc.

A Gift That Keeps On Giving – Fast Action Bonus Box

If you’re using the Butterfly Marketing concept of giving away something for free, and then offering additional products/services as an upsell, then make a fast action bonus for your affiliates.

This is where your affiliate gets to promote your free, high-value product as a bonus to their offer. What’s great about this method is most affiliates will include this offer in a high traffic area with their best customers. Usually, such a promo tool is on the download page after someone buys a product.

This means that your affiliate will be more likely to send paying customers to you – thus resulting in more revenue for both you and your affiliate.

Video, Video, Video

Most internet users still place the highest value on video. So when your affiliate can teach their audience something using video you create, it’s going to have a big impact.

A good viral video isn’t a 30 second commercial. Instead, it should be about 3-7 minutes of educational tips and ideas that can benefit the viewer. Then at the end of the video, you tell them how to find you to learn more by “clicking the link below”.

Then you upload the video to file sharing sites like YouTube (use Traffic Geyser if you want massive exposure). In your promo tools area, you include the embed code from the video site, and a clickable link underneath with the affiliate code pre-set.

Your affiliates will simply copy and paste that info into a blog post or on a download page, and voila – you’re video is ready to go.

Make It Copy-Paste Easy

One more big point: Whatever the promo tools you use, it’s essential that you make it as easy as copy and paste for your affiliates. One of the major mistakes I see people make is failing to use what’s called “dynamic affiliate links” in their promo tools area.

You probably know what I mean. You get a promo tool, and part of the link is YOURID or XXXXXX. The product owner is relying on you and the other affiliates to change that to their affiliate ID.

Instead, you need to use affiliate management software to eliminate this hassle. If you are using Clickbank, you may want to invest in AffiliatePageMaker from Ray LaFoy and Mike Filsaime. PayDotCom already includes the dynamic linking.

Butterfly Marketing (my personal favorite) and Launch Formula Marketing also include this already.

More Affiliate Program Training Tomorrow

Tomorrow, I’ll share the final part of this series – how to motivate your affiliates.

And I’ll also be opening the doors to my newest training course – Create Your Own Affiliate Program. This is a crash course on the stages of creating your affiliate program.

You’ve been introduced to much of the principles throughout this past week. But inside the full course, you’ll be taken even deeper into each area. As you can expect from me, part of the training will be free.

And I’ll have a special discount for you as a loyal during the first few days.

Plus, you’re going to love the affiliate commissions I’ll be sharing with you should you choose to recommend the training to others.

For now, what’s your favorite affiliate tool to use, or give to your affiliates? Post it below with a comment!

p.s. Giving your affiliates easy to use promo tools is critical to a long-lasting, profitable affiliate program. At the very least, be sure to include autoresponder messages so your affiliates can set it up one time, and promote your offer forever.
