Learn Internet Marketing Strategies For Your Business

I’m often asked how I have been able to grow my business from essentially nothing to six-figures in under 2 years. It was this time 2 years ago that I took the plunge and made my first serious jump into internet marketing when I purchased the Butterfly Marketing Script and Home Study Course.

So you might say that Butterfly was the cause of my success. But that would be wrong (even though it has had a definite role).

But the truth is, that script sat on my hard drive for about 6 months before I put it to use.

There were a number of other things that I did. I certainly bought enough ebooks, video tutorials, and audio programs to fill up my hard drive. Then there were the resell rights products and the “business in a box” systems that I could load up and start churning out profits day and night.

Surprise, surprise, those didn’t work by themselves either.

The reality is that if I could point to one critical element of my business that put me in position to achieve what I have, it would have to be mentoring.

For about 21 months, I participated in a $500/month coaching program, the i5Gold program. Don’t worry – I’m not going to try get you to sign up for it (but that’s only because it doesn’t exist any more). This program gave me access to internet marketing experts who not only gave me strategies to implement, but they provided me with something much more important.

They gave me direct access to their brains, and then gave me a forum to meet others within the same program.

So each month, I got to ask Paulie Sabol, Mike Filsaime, Donna Fox, and Tom Beal specific questions that pertained to my business at that specific time. Instead of trying to figure out how some ebook could be applied to my specific situation, I was getting direct answers to my specific questions.

Then there was the forum.

It was in this exclusive community I met the following people: Frank Bauer, Martin Salter, Chris Morris, Matthew Glanfield, Tim Brocklehurst, Dan Kelly, Scott Tousignant, Lon Naylor, and many others. These names are probably familiar to you by now.

But back then, most of them were just starting to see success (just like me).

I then attended a seminar sponsored by that mentoring program, during which I met almost all those people and many more face to face for the first time. And at that seminar, I became part of a mastermind group that has met every Wednesday for over 15 months now.

Because of that mentoring program, I got to know one of the mentors much better – Paulie Sabol. Which turned into a real opportunity later in 2006 when he agreed enthusiastically to interview me as part of my Squidoo Secrets project.

Many of the people in the mastermind forum became heavy promoters of my earliest projects, and remain my top affiliates – even though when they were starting their lists were much smaller than they are now.

Indeed, I feel very fortunate to have found such a positive environment of like-minded people I could turn to for beta testing, advice, motivation, critiques, promotions and all the rest.

I know now that joining that mentoring program was the best thing I ever did, and the most critical step in my growth in business.
