Learn Internet Marketing Strategies For Your Business

If you’re tied into the internet marketing universe, you’re likely seeing TweetGlide exploding onto the scene. TweetGlide is a free software program from Mike Filsaime that combines the functionality of a useful Twitter App with a viral advertising/referral system to help you promote your business.

I’d like to share my initial opinions about it, to give you a better idea if TweetGlide is for you.

In brief:

Pros

• Free
• Works/looks like TweetDeck
• Ads are only seen by other TweetGlide members
• TweetGlide members who see ads are likely on Twitter for business
• Referral program for increased ad views
• Affiliate program
• Easy to remember affiliate link
• URL shortener
• Premium upgrade option special offer is cheap
• Premium ads include longer messages and color

Cons

• Ads
• Works like TweetDeck
• Can not control what is said with the “Tweet my affiliate link” option
• Money and Twitter have been hard to marry openly
• Unproven how long people will use it

I’ll explain more about the pros and cons soon after I’ve tested it out more, but since it’s free and the ads you run are only in TweetDeck it’s worth trying out without fear.

Another big question that I get when it comes to creating an affiliate program, is “where will I find my affiliates?”

Unfortunately, most people get so worked up over getting some big name, big list partner on board that they miss out on the most obvious answer.

More on that in a second.

But first, let me say this: don’t let the question stop you from creating your product, and setting up your affiliate program.

Because the truth is, without your product DONE, and your affiliate program FUNCTIONING, it won’t matter where you look for your affiliates. If they have nothing to promote, and they can’t trust that you’ll be able to keep track of who they send you, they won’t give you a second thought.

That of course is perhaps an over-exaggeration. But if you’re not creating an affiliate program because you don’t know where your affiliates will come from – you’re never going to grow your online business as fast as you could.

Today’s lesson is about growing your list of subscribers and customers without spending huge amounts of money on advertising.

The way I’ve grown my business is by letting my current clients recommend my sites to other people, and then rewarding them for doing so. In fact, I estimate that 80% of my subscribers and customers came to me at some point from someone else’s recommendation (which is over 16,000 people!).

Of course, we’d all like to think that when you make something great, others will want to tell people about it just because.

And that does happen.
