As one of the leading teachers for teleseminar hosting and product creation, I get asked a lot of questions.

And one of the questions that I get asked most frequently is: I don’t like to “sell” – can I still do teleseminars?

This is a great question, although it’s very frustrating to hear it. The question comes from a mistaken belief that all teleseminars must result in “selling” something at the end of the call. No surprise, really – 90% of the teleseminars we get invitations for are like this.

But out of the 300+ teleseminars I’ve done over the last 2 1/2 years, “tele-SELL-inars” make up about 15% of my own calls.

Let me share 5 other types of teleseminars you can do today that don’t rely on you doing a big pitch at the end of your call – yet can still result in bigger profits and growth in your business.

Question and Answer Teleseminar

Interview An Expert Teleseminar

Be Interviewed Teleseminar

Bonus Teleseminar

Product Consumption Teleseminar

1. Question and Answer Teleseminar

This is my favorite type of teleseminar for people doing their very first call – especially if you are a service provider or attempting to get known for a particular specialty.

With this type of teleseminar, you simply answer common questions people have about what it is you do. Questions can be made up by you, or supplied by people you know personally (friends, family, colleagues) or remotely (Twitter, Facebook, email list).

Jump on the phone, and answer each question completely. Typically you can do a 45-60 minute call with just 5 questions.

2. Interview An Expert Teleseminar

This is a very common type of teleseminar that usually ends with a pitch. But it certainly doesn’t have to. Simply having the conversation with an expert gives you credibility that you can leverage over time.

Plus if your call is good enough, the interview itself (and the resulting transcripts) can be packaged together to sell.

Not sure if you can get an “expert” on the call, or why they would participate?

First of all, it never hurts to ask.

Second, you don’t need the #1 expert in the field to be your expert. Simply someone who is more known than you is a “big enough” expert to work with for your initial call.

3. Be Interviewed

On the flip side of course is where you get to be an expert.

Unfortunately, most of us (myself included back in the day) don’t think we have enough experience or expertise to carry the “expert” or “guru” status.

But as my friend Carrie Wilkerson told me one day, “Every fourth grader is a god to a third grader!” (I think she heard that from her dad – not sure).

So as long as you can share your knowledge to people who want to know what you know, you’re all set.

You don’t have to claim to be the #1 expert, nor should you claim some mantle in an area where you have no real knowledge at all.

But if you can help others understand something, they’ll love you for it.

4. Bonus Teleseminar

This is one of my favorite types of teleseminars for affiliate marketing. In exchange for people purchasing a product recommendation through your affiliate link, you give those buyers a bonus teleseminar.

This could take the form of a call you do with the product creator, or a teleseminar related to the benefits the product has. You can also take previously recorded teleseminars and package them together as a bonus.

5. Product Consumption Teleseminar

Another excellent affiliate marketing teleseminar is do hold a teleseminar (or series of calls) for buyers of a product to help them consume the product.

This is especially good when the product creator has an awesome product, but perhaps no ongoing support for it. Your call(s) serves as a way to hold your buyers accountable to taking action.

Plus, you get better connected to that audience and find out what else is missing that you can either provide yourself, or recommend.

These are just 5 out of many types of calls you can do right away. Don’t worry about how many people will listen live.

Use them as experience builders, turn the recordings into your own products, and watch your momentum continue to grow!

You can learn a lot more about these 5 types of teleseminars and many others at TeleseminarFormula.com. I’ll not only give you the different formats, but also how to run the technical pieces to put it all together into a complete business system.
