Snow is falling again in my old school system. If I was still teaching the ninth graders, I’d be wearing my pajamas inside out and doing the “Snow Day Shuffle” – in the hopes that school would be closed.
Yes, it’s true – teachers love snow days even more than the students.
I’m no longer teaching school, but I can remember how much I took advantage of the snow days in the early days of creating my business.
So here’s a quick list of 10 things you can do in a single snow day to move your online business forward…
- Set up an autoresponder at Aweber, and write 4 messages about a topic you know well.
- Search for Twitter followers in your industry, and introduce yourself to them
- Create a Facebook fan page to highlight you as an authority on your topic
- Search Clickbank for a related product that you can review and recommend
- Set up a free WordPress blog on your own domain and hosting account, and create 3 posts talking about what you know
- Hold a teleseminar (even if nobody else is listening) answering the top 5 questions people have about what your business provides
- Create a Camtasia video reviewing a product or service that you are already using
- Write 3 articles about what you know that can connect people to a solution
- Create and upload a YouTube video that reviews a product
- Write a 7 page report about a resource that you find helpful
Time’s ticking – pick one of these and go for it!

p.s. I’ve been thinking about creating a “Snow Day Profits” program for some time now, to walk people through these types of 1-day actions. Would you be interested? It will need to wait until after SIMPLE – but I’d love to know your thoughts on this.

Great tips, Bob! Since I had the breakthrough at NAMS (doing video), I had one more goal on my NAMs list and that was to submit my first article to Ezine Articles so I’ll be working on that AND I struggle with the whole list building/autoresponder thing so that is my next obstacle to overcome. I think those things will really boost my business.
I’m a bit afraid to get a Facebook fan page since it seems like a bit of a distraction to me with everything else I need to implement and learn. But it’s on my ‘to do’ list.
Hi Angie,
Bob has a fabulous 30-Day Challenge Autoresponder series that teaches step-by-step how to get started an autoresponder, and specifically with Aweber. It steps you through setting up the emails and other details for effectively using an autoresponder. It’s also an awesome model of maximizing your work day. It was free last summer when I took it, but it’s well-worth any price he may have put on it since.
Re Getting started with article marketing. Jeff Herring is the best. See if you can find tidbits on writing the Resource Box from Jeff. His info rocks!
I love learning from Bob and Jeff. I’m sending you mega success vibes.

Good doable tips Bob!
Angie – if you want to send that first article to me to review before you submit it feel free to email it to me at Jeff@JeffHerring.com and check out all the tips at http://YourFirstArticle.com

Bob, this is brilliant!!!!! One of the biggest obstacles that I see in my students (and sometimes even in myself) is a feeling of overwhelm or a tendency to procrastinate, thinking that there is too much to do and not enough time to get it done.
I’d love to see you create a club/membership site on this concept – perhaps where we even share what we accomplished.
It would also be really helpful and supportive if we were encouraged to have 2 or 3 people that we know join us in the challenge. This would be a great way to help and encourage one another to (in the words of the famous Jeff Herring) “GUTS – Go Use This Stuff!
See you in NC!!!!
Thanks for everything,

I hope to see more!

Since I need to start doing video my goal for the day will be to go out and buy a camera do shoot video with. I love this list I am going to start working though it one by one until I have done them all. One of the goals I made at NAMS in Jeff Herrings class was to get 50 articles on Ezinearticles by end of April.

Kelley – that is a good goal and very doable. And you are gonna love the traffic. I’d be glad to take a look at one of your articles and give you some tips if you like – Jeff
