The Low-Down On This Week’s Internet Marketing Products

This week and next are severely crowded. You are likely to see big name marketers promote up to 8 different things over these two weeks, and it’s extremely difficult to make sense of it all.
So you have three choices…
- Ignore them all and stick to what you are already trying to accomplish (if you have bought anything in the last two weeks, this is the best thing to do).
- Pick one of the new products and turn down everything else, and tune out any other product until you finish digesting and tearing through what you buy this week or next (if you are ready for something new to help you, then this is the best thing to do).
- Pick more than one of the products, spend a lot of money, and get none of them done because it’s too hard to focus (try not to pick this one!).
So let me share with you the products I think are worth your attention, expecting you to evaluate which one (if any) is the best for you right now. I’ll also share with you whether it’s something I’m personally getting, how much it costs, and any inside scoop I have on it. At the end, I’ll summarize exactly which is the most appropriate along 7 criteria.
30 Day Formula 2 from Matthew Glanfield and Todd Gross
- Matthew Glanfield and Todd Gross host a teleseminar series introducing you to squeeze pages, traffic, affiliate marketing, and basic internet marketing strategies. This is a live teaching series with me, Tellman Knudson, Martin Salter, and others. This is appropriate for people in the beginning stages of their business. The cost of the series is $37, which gets you the ability to listen to the live calls or download them within 24 hours of the event. An upsell of $97 gives you resell rights to the entire set, as well as the ability to download them all whenever you want. Even though I am a speaker, I personally bought the VIP level so I could get the resell rights. My session happened Monday, and it was packed for 90 minutes with some of my own best marketing strategies laid out on the table.
The Death of Network Marketing From Ellie Drake
- Network marketing’s master trainer Ellie Drake and Mike Filsaime team up to share what’s wrong with traditional MLM marketing practices, and what internet marketing can do for you. This product is not appropriate for you if you think all MLMs are pyramid schemes or Amway descendants. The reality is, some network marketing companies are extremely viable businesses. This report details important changes that you need to take advantage of if you are currently working with a network marketing company. This is a free report, and in fact, you can earn 25 cents for each person who downloads it (and the same for your second level referrals, too). Why would Ellie pay a quarter to get you to download a free report? Well, she’s building a list and she is likely to have some kind of training program coming out soon to solve the issues raised. I have personally downloaded the report, read a few pages of it and promptly got distracted with something else. However, I read enough to know that Ellie has very important things to say and should be listened to.
Post Launch Profits From Alex Jeffreys
- Alex Jeffreys has an incredible story to tell for the last year of his life. I met Alex at the beginning of this story in September of 2006, and can tell you it rings true. Whether you can duplicate his success is of course up in the air. But it’s an inspirational book that he’s released. And it’s free. He’s going to offer you an upsell to receive additional training to put into action what the book talks about. I am personally not buying that training as I don’t feel it fits my particular needs for my business. For someone with fire in their belly and not a clear direction, it could be the kind of kick in the butt you need.
Alex Mandossian’s Teleseminar Secrets
- Hosting a teleseminar, which I wrote about the other day, is a quick way to build credibility and deliver great content. It’s also a powerful tool as an affiliate marketer. The master of teleseminars is Alex Mandossian, and he’s opening up his Teleseminar Secrets series once again (this is usually just once per year). His course is $1997 for the full training (payment plan available). This is a mix of extensive teleseminars and training over a long period of time. With that price point, you should realize a few things. First, the people in the course are dead serious about moving forward quickly with their business. This means you will likely find an excellent partner in the mix for masterminding, JV’ing, etc. It also means that if you buy it, plan on not buying anything else for the next 4 months so you can put into action what Alex teaches. The best bet is to register for his $97 preview call ($20 through the link above), which will show you very quickly whether teleseminars are right for you (the call is Thursday). I am on the fence for this personally. I’ll be on the preview call, but I’m currently working through Product Launch Formula and feel this may distract me to take on.
BBO Traffic Series From Matthew Glanfield
- Matthew Glanfield has a 9 part teleseminar series to show you how to get more traffic through mastering Adwords, JV partnerships, articles, Web 2.o, and several others. This live training series includes a strategy call each week, then a Q&A call each week as well. With a class size of 200, you’ll find serious people ready to mastermind and grow together. This course is $497 (payment plan available). Working closely with Matthew, I know a lot of the content that he will be teaching, so will not be taking the class. It’s critical information for getting traffic that I recommend you know sooner than later.
PowerMonth From Sterling Valentine
- Masterminding, accountability, and extreme focus are the benefits of this 30 day training from one of the internet’s most unique thinkers. I’ve personally seen the power of a good group of like-minded people who boost each other up through the struggles of a product launch or taking the next steps in business. I received an invitation to join this from Ross Goldberg earlier today, and initially I figured I’m doing alright without it. But I looked at the results of my past three weeks and realized that this time of year is always a time for me to get slumpy. I’m not a big fan of the light change, and I need an extra kick in the butt to get my projects completed over the next few weeks. This Power Month accountability and focus training is $297, and in the middle of writing this review (just moments ago in fact), I’ve decided to join. I also opted in for the $297 upgrade, which gives me more access to Sterling and the top movers that I haven’t met yet online. Plus, that upgrade includes resell rights to an upcoming workshop, and I know Sterling puts on great workshops. This begins Wednesday, December 5, so it may be too late if you are reading this after it closes.
The Secret Classroom From Joel Comm And Eric Holmlund
- As you likely have seen, I’ve been a big fan of the Next Internet Millionaire. I’m one of the teachers for the winner, Jaime Luchuck’s Success In Only 12 Weeks program. One of the reasons Jaime won that contest was she decided from the start that she would pay a lot of attention to what each of the instructors taught. While watching the episodes, you get to see about 5 minutes or less of what those instructors taught. Jaime and the other contestants were hit with at least 2 hours of teaching from each instructor. People like Rich Schefren, Mike Filsaime, Michael Koenigs, Jeff Walker and others. Joel and his business partner Eric Holmlund recorded all those sessions and you can get them for your own library. If you picked up the 7 Figure Code DVDs from Mike Filsaime’s event last February, you’ll know that recordings like this can be very valuable to you. The nice thing about this set will be that since the speakers were teaching the contestants and not at a seminar, you won’t feel like you are being sold to for 50% of the presentation. I will likely pick this set up, as there are several marketers I hadn’t seen before in person. The price will likely be $497, but if you go before the launch you can actually get a few products from Joel for free as a pre-launch subscriber. Then decide if the full set is up your alley.
High Roller’s Club From Glen Hopkins
- Best-selling author and list building expert Glen Hopkins offers an incredible amount of material for $1 at a site that most people don’t know about just yet. The High Rollers Club is a monthly membership, billed at about $40 per month after that $1 trial for 7 days. The HRC includes a monthly mastermind call between Glen and a guest expert. This Thursday that expert happens to be me :) so if you jump on this now, you can join in during the trial period. In addition to the call, full members receive the CD recording in the mail. With your trial you also get a digital copy of Glen’s Lucrative List Building book. Glen will offer you his Lucrative List Secrets Home Study course as an upsell which is also packed with great content. I’m personally on the HRC monthly, and received preview access to the course as Glen’s mastermind partner.
- This comes out next week (December 11), so I won’t tell you much about it as some of the new changes are still under wraps. However, I can tell you that as a customer of MVS 2, you get automatic upgrades to 3.0 and the price is going up by about $200. Right now, I believe the system is $397, with a hosted version available at a monthly cost. The Silver (full version) is a much better deal, compared to the hosting (which is best for techno-phobes). I work with Tim in the MVS Super League as the co-founder, and talk with him regularly about developments in the software. This product is perfect for people who have the desire to build a list quickly, have a focused niche to explore and profit from, and/or want a complete software system to serve as a backbone for your marketing. The system is based on rebrandable ebooks, but you’ll need to see Tim’s explanation to understand it better. I will likely have a teleseminar with Tim very soon about it. But by then the price may be higher. So if you have heard me talk about My Viral Spiral in the past, then you will know that MVS3 will rock. I personally already have a lifetime membership of this software. However, I can confidently say that if I didn’t, and I saw what this software does, I would pick it up in a heartbeat.
Eight-Fold Path To Affiliate Profits By Bob Jenkins
- I have just concluded the first live training course for the Eight-Fold Path, and you can now pick up the digital recordings of the entire 8 week course. I will be launching this product more officially in early 2008 once I finalize the editing of the transcripts, etc. However, at a cheaper price than you will see later, the recordings and the draft versions of the transcripts are now available. This course is my own personal best training, and includes over 30 hours of in-depth training, additional video resources, related bonus material and a lot more. The first week’s training is available for $27 to see if you find it appropriate for what you want to accomplish. The entire course recordings are $270. Once I’m finished editing everything that price will be $397 or more (likely at the turn of the year). If you resonate with what I teach at this blog, then this is the one for you.
I imagine there are a few other things coming out, but those are the ones that I would normally be sharing with you if they weren’t all coming out at the same time.
Does this confuse you more than help?
Well, I’ll add this to help you decide…
- If you are a network marketer, get Ellie Drake’s report for free.
- If you are an eager novice with experience in the “real world” that you would love to turn into an online business, than my own Eight-Fold Path is the best bet.
- If you are an eager novice with no idea what you want to do, then the 30 Day Formula 2 is the best choice.
- If you are an intermediate marketer who understands the basics but you want to grow faster by studying the masters then the Secret Classroom from Joel Comm is right for you.
- If you are an experienced marketer who wants to maximize multiple access points, create a revolutionary affiliate marketing funnel for yourself, and be a hero to your subscribers, then MVS 3 is the top pick.
- If you have most of the pieces together and you are ready for more traffic, then Matthew’ BBO Traffic Secrets is the pick.
- If you have a project in the works, but can’t seem to get all the steps prioritized and completed, then join me at PowerMonth.
- And if you are ready to become a recognized expert in your field through teleseminars, then pick up Alex Mandossian’s lessons.
Hope that helps!
Bob Jenkins
p.s. Unfortunately I don’t know your exact situation, but hopefully one of those descriptions describes you the best. Let me know if you found this review helpful with a comment below!
p.p.s. Don’t let the overwhelming amount of promotions this week keep you from analyzing which one (if any) is right for you. Stick with what you have, or pick one of the above and focus on it for the next 60 days.

Awesome post Bob! I just did my business books and discovered I have spent way too much in Internet Marketing stuff this year — your post helped me to put everything in perspective. I still ended up buying the secret classroom — but I’m not getting anything else until at least January…

Wow Bob,
You’ve certainly done your homework on the projects you have laid out for everyone.
I’m going to add you to my favourites so that I can pop back and see what else you are up to.

Thank you, Bob, for more top-value advice. I’ve just bought a package focusing on niche research because that’s where I’m having trouble, so for now I’m leaving off buying anything else. I have the feeling I’m going to be on cloud nine once I get my problems there licked … so I will once again be in the market for something to get me to my next level! ;-)

Kudos, Bob,
Most excellent reviews. Some downsides, however, primarily due to the nature(s) of the offers.
Personally, I can read faster than I can hear, and certainly faster than you (generic) can talk, even if you’re out of New England. That knocks out most multimedia/teleconference (pardon me, Teleseminar) offerings.
Another downside to the multimedia stuff is that you cannot make notes in the margins, so to speak. Think about it. You come back to review the material in six months - or three weeks! - and you don’t have any real reference to whatever notes you might have made: they are not in the time line of the media.
One last point (there are more, you know [giggle /]. I learned a lesson with a course from the late Cory Rudl. I can learn _from_ a genius, but genius cannot be _taught_, nor can I _learn_ genius by rote. Hence, offerings from the likes of Filsaime, Mandossian, et.al., are likely going to be a waste of money for me. I’m far better off with someone who can communicate with me *on my level* at the time of the interaction.
Lest I be accused of defeatism, me state that my level has increased significantly in the last several years. However, that does not make me the equal of the aforementioned mavens. While I can copy their methods by rote, I simply do not have - at this time! - the mental wherewithal to compensate should something go amiss.
Of course, your reviews cannot account for my abilities. However, it might help if you provided a bit more than, “If you are experienced …”, “If you are intermediate …”, and other such minimalist estimations.
Oh, well … time for a wordy old fart to sign off.
Make a good day …
