Recently, on IM Success Radio, my guest was my mentor and friend, Paulie Sabol (he’s one of the hosts for the upcoming Internet Marketers’ cruise as well).

I asked him to share his ideas for generating more revenue in 2009 from information marketing.

As expected, Paulie revealed some real gems, and I hope you take some time to listen to the entire audio (it’s available for free at IMSuccessRadio.com).

But right now, just read an excerpt from the transcript, and see how you can multiply your profits by 5 when you monetize each step of Paulie’s 5-step model here.

Paulie: “I want to introduce to you… a nice five word rhyming scheme that I have that I think really helps us identify revenue models in general. They are rhyming words so they are nice and easy to remember, and identify what I like to call the flow in the business that believe it or not, Bob, you can have a revenue model based on each and every one of the steps of the flow….

So all of these have the “ate” sound at the end. Here’s the flow of your business. You are going to generate, activate, satiate, elongate and separate. Let’s say what those mean.

Generate is the creation of a lead, or lead generation activity. It’s creating the genesis, the beginning of this relationship with somebody, even prior to their being a client or customer.

Then you are going to activate them. And activation is exactly what it seems. It’s transforming them from a prospect to a bonded client or customer. It’s really the sales process itself, the conversion process if you will.

Then you are going to satiate. You’re going to deliver on the offer that was purchased. So this is the fulfillment side or fulfillment part of the flow of the business.

Then you are going to elongate. Having created that initial relationship and having fulfilled it, you are now going to expand and pull and elongate that relationship into more purchasing behaviors. You might even call it reactivate if you wish. But I have it down as elongate.

Then finally, you’re going to separate. There will be, in many cases, a point in time where either a person who been a subscription with you no longer needs that service or is going cancel a subscription. Or a person who you were providing training or coaching or support to, now is going in another direction or is ready to expand in an area that maybe isn’t your expertise, your key expertise.

And there’s going to be a time and there’s going to be a right time, in many cases even for you to refer a bonded client or customer away. That’s the separate period.

Now what’s so exciting is when you look at your business in that flow of generate, activate, satiate, elongate and separate, you can actually produce profit at every one of those steps. And there is a revenue model at every one of those steps.”

During the entire show, Paulie explains how each of these steps can be monetized, and plenty of other golden nuggets you can use for your business.

Listen to the entire replay of this show for free at IM Success Radio. And if you prefer transcripts over MP3s, be sure to pick those up as well.
