Give A Limited Time Commission Bump

A real example of this was announced today by Groupon, which is doubling their normal referral bonus for 2 weeks (for up to 5 referrals).

And why do you think Groupon chose the last 2 weeks of the year to run this promotion? Because they know to get the most traffic to their site during a busy holiday season, when competition with other deal-a-day sites is at its peak, they need to stoke one of their top sources of traffic: their referring members.

Of course, when you do a commission bump, you’re giving more of your profits to your affiliates. However, this move will typically be rewarded by increased promotions now and continued loyalty to your program down the road.
