Help Me Pick My New Logo

I’m getting a logo designed for my information product line and blog; want to help me pick it?
I’m working with PrizeLogos.com to design a logo that will call attention to what I do best: teach people how to use the internet to market their message/business/services – specially with video/audio and virtual workshops.
I met the owner of Prize Logos at JV Alert – Cory Schop. Here’s what they’ve come up with so far.
Now, I need to pick the one baseline out of these 10 and make some revisions to make it fantastic.
So look these over, and let me know which one you like best with a comment below. If you have suggestions for revisions, add that, too. You can also help me nix the ones that aren’t going to work at all.
Thanks for your input!

no 9
has corporate class
I’d say #2 or #9
10
This says: movement, communication, interaction, visuals, instruction and fun.
Cory here from Prize Logos. I wanted to chime in with my favorites. #7 and #4 have the potential to be well branded and fine tuned into something GREAT!
With #4 I would add the Bob to the The Teacher text as well. Also we can play with some teacher elements
With #7 we might be able to incorporate the background into a chalk or bullitin board.
#2 or #4 are my personal favs…
#7 is the strongest option. Clean, simple, stands out.
Were just a brick wall, but we all voted for #6… We have an eye for marketing.
We think that #6 would appeal to women . Who can turn down a happy face.
@BobTheTeacher No. 7 is, by far, THE BEST! Cory did good work on all, however.
7 is dynamic, progressive and has your “spelled-out” site information subtly prominent.
#4 would be my second choice.
My favs #9 and #10.
3 is the most approachable. 9 is the most corporate. 1 is the most “video” relevant.
6 looks like “boob” at a glance because of the smiley underneath. #10 looks like “rob”
I think that I have to go for the odds: 1, 3 or 9 (in no particular order)
I love #6 as well. Might not be “teacher like” enough but I know we could get it there. It is simply and memorable.
And from obviously a totally different perspective, I like #8 first then #9.
Bob,
All of my traditional marketing training says:
* simple and easy to read
* can be applied also in black and white
* web address needed
#2 accomplishes this the best.
#4 is great, and I agree with Corry that it needs the actual domain name underneath it.
I’m a old graphics guy from way back before we had computers to do all this neat stuff. I don’t know about others but for me when I see your face I know I’m in the right place. Let’s face facts the name “Bob ” is very common. If you can use your pic as in #8 and integrate it into a more dynamic design like #4 or #7 then you might have a strong branding image. Using a facial illustration adds a degree of humanness to an otherwise cold digital world.
People want to be taught by a real person don’t they?
Thanks for allowing us to put in our 2 cents worth.
PS: You do look like a teacher (in a good way)
I would go with #2 or #8
Should put a pole up here!
#7 has all the right elements, imo. If you were targeting kids, I’d go with #6, but since you’re targeting businesses, I think #7 is the one. Second runner up, #8 because of the face.
Have been a designer for 11 years and I would be proud to cal 7 mine. Go for 7 it is clean and easy to make out.
I like 1…It’s simple yet elegant. It gives you the largest chance of ‘Bob’ sticking in your public’s conscience.
Amazing transcript of that Orlando presentation. I got some great tips.
‘Z’
Bob I like both #2 & #9. I feel a bolder look for #9 maybe in Caps?
Make it yours…
Sandy
I like #5 cos it’s nicely commercial, and #8 looks professional. #7 is alright too.
Definately not #10 (who’s Rob?), or #3 (looks like Bob the Builder).
:)
Hey Bob
It is #8 …the hands down winner!
try to work in “ask” instead of ?
Make it you….your pic!!
I liked 3 as the most approachable.
A logo should be simple and memorable – #6 does that – looks like a damned brand itself! LOL. Whatever you do, don’t go with #4 – I first read it as mom. And #10 looks like Rob.
I love #6. It’s just so fun
Hey Bob! These look pretty cool. The text in 2 and 8 are my favorites but I like some of the elements of 3, 4, and 5. 3 may not be my favorite logo but I think it should be used for something. I just like the look of it. Here’s my thoughts, it’s hacked all to hell but you get the point.
Ok, so it stripped out the HTML, thought it might. Here’s the link: http://www.matttrostle.com/images/bob-logos.jpg
I like #2 with a bolder color than light green.
I like number 1 I think it is simple and clear. My second choice is number P but I would like to see your name in caps. I think 10 is the hardewst to read and should not be condiered.
In the end the choice should be yours as it is really all about you and your company ( advice that was given to me when I opened my first business and it was good advice)
I like 3 & 6 they look fun and inviting
I just think 7 has the most flare and stands out the most to me. It has it’s own different style. Nice work.
I prefer #7 and #9. They have the “friendliest” styles to me, business like, but still able to be related to in a personal way.
The first one to stand out for me was 7, I thought it looked very professional. My second choice is 8 as I rather like the profile included in it. Third choice would be 9.
#7 is my fav
Who is your target market? That makes a huge difference.
#3 and #6 say “kids”
#2 has some of the playfulness w/o being as juvenile
#10 lacks name clarity…looks like “Rob” instead of “Bob”
#9 has potential but as is doesn’t have authoritative feel
My faves, clear, powerful–#2 and #7
I like #5 – it seems to accomplish your goals the best. The question mark translates in the viewers mind as the word “Ask” and the lettering below completes the sentence “Ask Bob the Teacher”. To reinforce this thought, the website reiterates it, with http://www.askbobtheteacher.com. The audio and video icons also hint at your special focus, for A/V advice with internet marketing.
#8 would be my 2nd pick – kind of the same theme – the question mark in front of “Bob” as if to say “Ask Bob the Teacher” Probably would want to add the website address too, though.
I like number3 but it doesnt have the .com in it so its a no go….. so my next fave is number5 !!! it gives a bit of a hint to what you teach…. next would be number 8….
ohh and axe number 6 immediately it looks like boob at a glance lol
As a graphic Design Major i would say that 2, 7 and 9 are the best ones. they look profesisonal but also catch a person’s eye.
I like # 8 but kudos to Cory on a great job with all of them!
9 the best one
Two choices jump out from the rest – #2 & 7. But, I would change the graphic and use either one from #8 or #9.
Great choices and a difficult decision. Seems like you’ve got a great designer to put this together for you.
#1 does look like it belongs on a video. #3 is kid friendly — ie for students to use. #’s 2, 8 or 9 are more adult friendly and then 4 and 6 are just silly looking and #’s 5, 7 and 10 are just plain confusing.
#2 or #6, they look really good! #2 for adults and #6 for kids!
I have to say that I really like #3 for young kids. #6 would be awesome for middle school. But #2 and #7 really jumped out at me!
I don’t like logo 1,3,4,9… but I like the rest.
Very hard choice I have to say. I do like like #5. It is clean, gets the message across. includes the audio and video, you could change the text to what the actual website address is (askbobtheteacher.com or bobtheteacher.com)
Great job by Cory Schop. Kudos!!!
2,8 or 9 those are more eye catching and something that i would take a 2nd look at, i also like 3 because that was actually the first one i saw..maybe cause it was cartoonish..lol
I prefer #6, it caught my eye out off all of them. It is simple, cute and to the point…not contrived like the others.
#10 as stated, looks like it might say ROB.
#6 I agree, at a glance, it looks like it says Boob. I don’t think you want ANYONE thinking it says this.
#8 This is good with your picture, BUT it can get dicey, if you want to sell this in the future, this could cause issues.
#3 For some reason this one reminds me of Bob the Builder.
If you combined #1 with #9, I think would be a winner. What I mean by combine it leave #9 complete as is, EXCEPT as a “play button” over the figure in the green circle.
Good luck with your business.
I like #2 and #9. Number 3 reminds me of Bob the Builder for some reason.
number 3 would be better if it were written in chalk
i like number 4 the best, it stands out and i think would be easily recognisable
They all look really nice.
I especially like 1, 5, 8, 4, 9, 3
3 is a great logo
I keep wanting to click #1
#9 looks nice as a business card.
I like #’s 8 and 9. Both are clean and crisp. However, they are missing “ask” so people who see the logo only will have to do a web search to find you, unless bobtheteacher.com redirects here also.
Hi Bob,
I like 7 and 9.
i say my two favorites are # 8 and # 9
hi
i like numbers 8 and 9 the best
#10 stands out for me. It seems a little more professional. It stands out with the black background.
number 2 and number 7 look very professional and is easy to read but shows some class and style
I immediately liked #6 it’s stands out by far its also a very friendly looking logo too :)))
Definitely #5 for me. It instantly told me that questions were being asked and answered by the question mark, and that audio and video were also involved. Told me everything I needed to know just from those three symbols on this logo.
#2 or #9 look the most professional. #6 really looks like it says “boob” and I don’t think that’s what you’re going for here… #10 looks like it says “rob.” If you’re looking at targeting a younger crowd I’d say #3.
#9 without a doubt……looks much more professional, crisp & clean look.
Trying to understand what the branding of Bob the Teacher is the key. Going by the limited information available, I would choose #1. It gives the message of teaching internet video. I would definitely not choose #8 or #9 – they are too corporate and would not appeal to small businesses or individuals. #10 looks like an architectural firm. #3 and #6 are too friendly and don’t put forth the image of business. #4 is too confusing. Even with knowing the name of the business it was too hard to read. #2, #5, and #7 are good, but my pick would be #1
# 8 or #9 (slightly higher preference given to #8 but wheres the ‘ask’).
#10 has potential if you were to change the large (illegible) letters in the middle to computer screens with a more readable letter in each
#6 looks too much like boob
#3 & # 5 are also good if you are looking at a more comical approach (suggest adding the website url at the bottom of #3)
I don’t like #3 at all, I think it looks like “Bob the Builder.” My favorite is #2, it fits the website, it looks professional, and looks like it needs the least revision.
Natalie
The one that jumped right out at me was #7. I liked #9 at first, but the more I looked at it, the more my mind kept trying to read it as “the bob teacher” instead of “bob the teacher”. Also, why do some say bobtheteacher.com and others say askbobtheteacher.com? I definitely think that the web address should be in the logo, so I would eliminate any without it right away.
Ok, I’m not going to read any more comments or I’ll change my vote!
In order of preference:
1, because it’s not only simple and clean, but the “button” in the O plays off the fact it’s an website (easy as pushing a button!)
2, I would suggest, though, removing the eye and instead, as David Parsons said, replace it with a picture of Bob’s face.
9, except lose the guy waving and make it either a picture of Bob, or something more teacher-esque (NOT an apple, though – too overused).
I DON’T like #10. Too hard to read, and makes me think the website and instruction provided will be too complicated or confusing.
I have to say that I like #5 the best – It is clean and communicates a high level of professionalism – maybe take the font from #9, but otherwise #5 is the clear winner.
# 1. Hands down my favorite. : )
Best of luck! I know how hard branding can be.
i liked number 8 the best it has an intreging thing about it that draws u into it.
#7 is my top pick. – I like how it shows the universal symbol of the play button. to me that means that you have interactive mediums to teach.
#2 comes in at a close Second.
I actually took a while to decide, maybe too long, and there’s something about #8. My second choice would be #7. Ideally, IMHO use the words from #2 with the #8 graphic enlarged and centered above the words…they all are good, not keen on 9 and 10.
#7 is the best!
#8 is my top choice, since it has your picture. But you need to figure out a way to add “ask” in it.
#7 is my next choice.
The absolute no-no is my book is #10 — much too busy and would not copy well. Hope this helps.
#6 is my 12 year old son’s favorite, #8 is mine.
Bob,
For me #8 has it all
logo number 7….
I like 8 and 9, # 3 would appeal to kids, not adults, as a female I don’t like #6, looks too much like ‘boob’
All my opinion are based upon IMMEDIATEand instant feelings and senses – i tried not analyze too much. All ar gut feelings.
I liked 4 & 6. But 4 was too BEEBO for me. Not enough uniqueness.
My immediate Liking, 7. It had all the elements and somebody above me commentd
NO to 10 as it was difficult to see and understand.
on the word ASK vs. ? I totally agree. I didn’t like seeing ? it left me with a ? I didn’t know why it was there.
The moment I saw ask Bob the teacher. I felt a bit more “comfort”. Most logo’s on first glance appealed to me. As a computer skills trainer myself of Adults and children, aopaling to all is a tough task.
8 was interesting a bit busy, and I did appreciate really David Parsons comment about the human-ness factor, liked that.
So comments in, survey sez: my FINAL VOTE: 4 because it can be horizontal and vertical, it can b placed anywhere and anyhow. Simple and even now I can visualize it in my mind and could probably draw it, while saying to myself, ask bob the teacher.
oops one final thought, is it best to also add the www?
Either way – number 4 gets my vote.
i like #3 the best
My immediate reaction is #6. It is eye-catching, interesting, light-hearted and entices me to want to see more.
My second choice is #9. It is appealing and professional looking.
However, I would revise both to somehow effectively reflect the correct website address….which, as I understand it, it “askbobtheteacher.com” not simply “bobtheteacher.com”.
My top pick is #7,Then #9 I would use Bob instead of bob.
I think #6 will get the most attention especially from the younger audience
I like 4 the best, but it doesn’t display the web address. 10 catches my eye the fastest, but it’s hard to read the name. I think number 5 gets more of the message across as to what the link is about.
I like #7 the best – then #5.
For # 4,6 and 10 – It takes to long to try and figure out what it says.
i like no6 the best it realy makes me smile and would make me wanna go and see what its all about
Personally, I like #4 the best, it makes a great Logo. Number #2 looks more geared towards adults, which is great. I don’t care for number 10 – hard to read.. it looks like it could say anything (besides Bob). Number 9 reminds me of something I would see in a slide show.
My daughter thinks #3 looks like Bob the builder.. (she didn’t care for it). #7 reminds me of the “subway” logo and I would think you would like to go for your own personal logo.
I personally like number 8,people like to see a face to the person in question gives it more of the personal touch. Good luck.
# 1 is the easiest to comprehend, number 8 isn’t bad. Some others are too hard to read, another seemed like a slight rip off of a now in use logo. Simple, is better, if you are aiming at students.
I like 5, then 9.
Only problem I have, I hear Bob the Teacher, and I think of the children’s show right away of Bob the Builder. (my daughter is 2, and watches it a lot)
I go for #9 first and then #3

#1 for sure!!
I agree, #1 – Clean, on target, easy to read, conveys subtle message – #1!
