Ask Bob The Teacher

A new book is being released this week on Thursday and I received a review copy yesterday. I just finished reading it today and can now share my thoughts on it.

The book is called “The 7 Figure Secrets“, by Mike Filsaime. The book becomes available on June 5 at 2 p.m. at FreeMikeFilsaime.com.

Before I tell you my thoughts, here are a few disclaimers:

• I’ve paid Mike over $4500 to mentor me during a 2 year period, and know him to be one of the most genuine people out there. I have yet to meet anyone who cares as much about the success of his tribe.
• I paid $5000 to attend the 7 Figure Workshop in Long Island, which the book is all about
• I will get “credit” for convincing you to request your free copy gets shipped to your mailbox
• I am giving away something very special to “bribe” you to take advantage of Mike’s offer
• You won’t make 7-figures online in 3 months just by reading this report.
• Mike will offer you additional products and services of his (all of which I personally own and use regularly) as an “upsell” to his free offer, which really should come as no surprise and represents a genuine bargain from normal prices.
• Although it’s “free”, you will pay $7.99 in shipping and handling to get this spiral bound book sent to your home.
• Knowing what I know about this report and the contents inside, I’d have to say that if you don’t claim your free copy, I’m not sure you really want success in internet marketing.

Okay, now that those bits are out of the way, let’s get to some background info, and then the review…

The 7 Figure Secrets book is a “Readers’ Digest” version of a 4 day workshop held in early 2007 in Long Island. I was there (that’s Mike and me in the picture), along with 100 other people. There were about 15 sessions of training during that weekend, presented by Mike, Tom Beal, Rich Schefren, and many others.

Honestly, the event itself was pretty overwhelming in content - in a very good way.

Which is why it was fantastic to get the DVDs of the event, which Mike released as the 7 Figure Code (now on sale for about $1300).

With all those hours of training, though, it’s always been hard for me to go back and watch each one.

Recognizing that, Mike decided to pay one of the people who attended the workshop a lot of money (Mike said $25,000 on our phone call last week), to go through all the videos again and take really close notes.

And here’s the first major benefit of this report: when you watch 10 different people talk about a lot of business strategies, it’s hard to figure out a clear path on your own.

So this writer (we’ll call him Mr. X - I know it’s a guy, but not sure who) rearranged all the gold nuggets of the entire weekend into a logical sequence so anybody who only has access to this report can jump ahead.

What does this mean for you?

It means you get the all the big ideas and ah-ha strategies in an 84 page book shipped to your house (nicely spiral bound and all).

Truthfully, being at the event and even watching the DVDs again is better than reading this report. Even so, the writer did an excellent job of reorganizing the big ideas and capturing the essential tips that Mike and the other speakers revealed at the event.

If you weren’t there, this report gives you plenty of meat to chew on (no offense my vegetarian friends), and plenty of ways to make small adjustments in what you are doing for big impact.

Here are just a few of the big ideas you’ll pick up inside this report…

• You’ll learn whether you are a “fox” or a “hedgehog” when it comes to business, and why the distinction determines how consistently you’ll make money in business.
• You’ll learn when to hire employees in-house or stick with virtual help
• You’ll learn advanced strategies on list building and product creation
• You’ll learn ways successful marketers are generating more “LTV” Profits from each customer they help, so you can do the same
• You’ll learn about the FAST Profits model, which will help you evaluate whether a business project is worth pursuing or setting aside.
• You’ll learn some significant tax saving strategies, many of which helped me save over $3000 on my taxes for 2007.

As for how the report “looks”, you will be impressed with everything except for the spelling.

They did a good job of making this book easy on the eyes, with attractive, relevant graphics. You’ll also find side bar excerpts to emphasize major points. These include Pearls of Wisdom (quotes from thought leaders) and Gold Nuggets (the big ideas).

As a former teacher, the spelling mistakes that show up are a bit aggravating. But that’s the one weakness of Mike’s products that I’ve never let prevent me from learning the hard-core business strategies and marketing methods that he teaches. I hope you’ll look past those, too.

As with any book, the fortune is in the implementation. So I can’t say that this book is the salvation of everyone’s business. Nor should you really expect any book to do that for you.

However, I can say with confidence that the person who gets The 7 Figure Secrets in their hands and takes action on a couple of ideas each week will progress faster than those that ignore its contents.

The book is an excellent reference to keep on your desk, referring to it often for the jump start we all need from time to time.

Overall Grade: A- (because of the spelling), definitely worth a lot more than the shipping and handling that Mike is asking for.
