Clickbank Pirate Review – I Give It 4 Yars For Affiliate Marketing

When I first saw this new “pirate-themed” product about affiliate marketing with Clickbank, I thought – oh, no, not again.
Seems like we’ve already seen way too many Clickbank millions types of products.
But I’m never one just to cast off stuff from the name or the graphics alone.
Side note: the other day, in Brooklyn, I was trying to find a good local restaurant for dinner. The one that I found on Google didn’t exist. So I went on to Yelp! on my iPhone and found Yemen Cuisine on Court Street.
It was a DIVE hole in the wall place that read “S-k-e-t-c-h-y” all over it. And it was the best food I’ve eaten in a long time!
Point: you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, and you really should try stuff yourself to make a judgment.
Anyway, back to this Pirate thing…
I was invited to test drive this new program, and to be honest, if it wasn’t coming from who it came from, I would have turned it away.
At first glance, Clickbank Pirate is one of those glitzy, graphics heavy products like we’ve seen before. And usually those fall really short on substance and the average person trying to start out with affiliate marketing will have little success with it.
But since it’s from Soren Jordansen and Cindy Battye, I was willing to give it a closer look.
Why?
Because Soren and Cindy are two of my most active affiliates, and it seems like every day one or both of them makes a sale on one of my sites.
In other words, they know affiliate marketing REALLY well.
Plus, I finally met them in person on the IM Success Cruise in January, and they know their stuff.
They also love to be creative with their marketing, and make it fun to learn from them and use their systems. Cindy has Traffic Bunnies traffic exchange, and Soren has products like Floating Action Buttons.
Anyway, on with the review…
Clickbank Pirate Is Good For Beginning Through Advanced Affiliate Marketers
This product is much more than an ebook or a quick video series on making money with Clickbank products (which is what I was afraid it would be).
Clickbank Pirate is actually a full blown marketing system that includes squeeze pages and autoresponders set up to sell particular Clickbank products through initial promotion and follow up series.
Translation: long term affiliate marketing profits for you.
The cool thing for beginners is you don’t need to even have your own autoresponder yet (although you should get an autoresponder ASAP), and you don’t need a website either (ditto on the ASAP).
You promote squeeze pages hosted on Soren and Cindy’s server, and all the opt-ins get tagged with your Clickbank affiliate link. The new subscribers get to download a free report and/or receive free tips on a particular topic. The design of the report and the follow up emails is to serve as an edu-mercial: teach and sell at the same time.
That’s a proven method for affiliate marketing, and it works really, really well.
The hard part is always finding the time to put together the reports, set up the autoresponders, and keep up with what’s hot in the marketplace.
For advanced affiliate marketers, you’ll start to see your eyes widen here, right? You know this is what you SHOULD do, but it’s hard to find the time.
Well, now you don’t have to worry as much, because Soren and Cindy are taking care of that system for you.
The CB Pirate Secret Sauce
Here’s where Soren and Cindy really got my attention though.
It’s likely that you’ll make a good number of sales with the first squeeze page you promote in this system.
But most of the people that opt-in are not going to buy (that’s just typical averages).
Well, Soren and Cindy will continue to share additional resources with your referrals for as long as they continue showing interest in getting free information, reports, etc.
And all those recommendations in the future will be made with your Clickbank ID – not theirs.
They can do this because they are already earning money from this system with their own products being among the many promoted, and they’re already using this system themselves so they simply share and profit with you (I prefer terms like share and profit instead of pillage and plunder, but hey, it’s a Pirate thing).
Out of the gate, you’ll have 7-10 Clickbank products to promote. But as the site grows, they keep adding new Clickbank products. Most right now are internet marketing related, but you’ll also see health/fitness, computer maintenance (registry cleaners are pretty hot for this market for example), and others.
Bottom Line – Clickbank Pirate Gets 4 Yars (out of 4)
So I have to say for affiliate marketing novices and experienced marketers who simply don’t have time to set up a system like this, CB Pirate gets 4 Yars from me (like I said, it’s a pirate thing).
If you’re an established expert with a specific niche and product line, you don’t really need this – but you’re going to want it anyway :) I’d suggest you give it a try as an additional revenue stream (and you might want to talk to Soren and Cindy about offering your product in there down the road).
If you’re still trying to find your way in the internet marketing niche (or any other), this is a simple system to increase your cash flow while you try to figure out what you want to be when you “grow up” in business.
Remember – once you make a referral, Soren and Cindy continue to promote products on your behalf for as long as that person wants to learn more.
The system goes live August 4, so right now, what you can do is download the Clickbank Pirate Treasure Map from Soren and Cindy, and you’ll start seeing this process in action.
And watch this video to see the creativity Soren and Cindy have that you’ll be seeing in the system.
Also notice the images they use – they use the same high quality graphics in the promotion systems that you’ll be able to use, too.

p.s. At the time of writing this review, the system itself is not open for promotion. Once it goes live, I’ll update this with the results I get from small-scale promotions through various forms of marketing (but I’ll test it without using my own list for realistic results).
However, I have put the system to the test myself, and I’m excited to see the high level of integration marketing that are at play on your behalf.

Hey Bob,
Great review. You are a fantastic writer my friend. And yes, I was a bit worried to at first… but the “automatic system” aspect of it was what pushed me to get involved and help out with the promotion.
Hope to catch up soon brother!
James
P.S. Not sure if you use this or not (I don’t see it installed on your blog below) It’s a cool WordPress plugin that let’s your readers subscribe via email to the comment feed:

Thanks Bob for the great review of Clickbank Pirate.
I enjoyed reading your honest opinion of the product as well as the explanation of how it works so effectively.

I was so intrigued by the approach and value of membership that I joined immediately after taking the Clickbank Treasure Map tour. I am not an impulse buyer; I saw every pit that I fell into over the past two years and how to avoid them in the future.

Hi Bob
You mentioned that, once the system goes live (which, of course, it did in August) you would come back and update us with your experiences with some low-key advertising. I cannot find that post, which I would be very interested to read.
Hi Alan,
I’ll try to revisit Clickbank Pirate soon. I pop in now and then, and occasionally still get sales. So it’s maintained profitability even though I have not promoted the system or the squeeze pages too much.
Bob
Clickbank Pirate, yes i like it but with two sign ups to date have a long hard road ahead to see solid profits and all important residial income from monthly subs. Think i will try the ppc route in the hope of building my list of prospects, and in time sales. Did someone say for each person on the list is worth one dollar a month in sales!
