5 Reasons To Create Your Own Information Product Now

You’ve heard me constantly preaching from a soapbox how important it is for you to have your own information product. Have you followed through and released one yet?

You can create and release any number of products:

  • teleseminar
  • report or ebook
  • video training series
  • software
  • home study course
  • simple audio program
  • or any combination of the above.

But perhaps you need more convincing that creating a product is important. After all, maybe you’re convinced that simple promoting other people’s products (affiliate marketing, network marketing, etc.) is good enough.

Here are 5 reasons to create your own product now (in no particular order):

[WordPress Membership] Poll Results: Next Course Is WordPress Membership Sites With DAP

The results are in from the Spring Training poll I posted for this past weekend.

And the winner is…

Creating profitable membership sites with WordPress and Digital Access Pass

Here is the complete poll result:

I took the total numbers of “Definitely” and gave that vote 3 points. The “Probably” votes get 1 vote. So numerically…

  • Discover DAP got 371 points
  • Unstoppable Blogging 2 got 276 points
  • Teleseminar Formula 4 got 162 points

As you can see, business blogging was a close second. However, in order to teach Discover DAP, there will be a fair amount of WordPress and blogging included to make your membership site look good and be profitable.

What Happens Now?

On Wednesday, March 17, I’ll send an invitation to my existing subscribers, customers, and clients to a free preview call with Ravi Jayagopal. We’ll dive into why DAP fills the needs of savvy membership site owners better than any other script on the market, and what’s coming soon in the next update of DAP.

Live Event Attendance Is Down – Perfect!

I just returned from an internet marketing seminar (been going to a lot of those recently!), and reality is sinking in.

For event promoters, having smaller audiences is depressing. For those hoping to attract people wanting to make a major change in their lives because of economic circumstances, they’re finding that most of their target market is unable to make the trip. The cost of the ticket, airfare/travel, and hotel is just not available to many.

While that’s bad news for event hosts, it’s great news for you!

If you are in the minority, and can get to these events, it’s a perfect time to go. With attendance being 30-60% smaller than normal, there’s never been a better opportunity to get on the radar of the current and feature leaders of the industry.

Can You Really Write A Book This Weekend?

I recently met Donna Kozik (finally!) at Adam Urbanski’s excellent seminar in California. Now, she and I are mastermind partners, and this has me totally pumped up.

Donna Kozik and Bob The TeacherThis is because Donna’s area of expertise is creating your own book as a “big business card.” This is something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time. And Donna’s helping me break through the excuses of not having it done yet. I have an article for you to read from Donna below, but first, something even better.

I asked her if I could get her on the phone for some consulting for my own book, and then I realized that you might want to do this too. So after she said yes to giving me advice, I asked her if I could let you listen in as well, and thankfully she agreed.

You can listen in (and even ask questions) Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET – call details are at WriteABookThisWeekend.com. Oh, and it’s free for the live call and to get the replay for the first 24 hours after the call is done.

So if you’ve ever dreamed to see your name on the cover of a book, and perhaps giving someone a copy of your own published book, then you got to join me Tuesday night!

Bob

p.s. Here’s that article I was talking about…

Create An Information Product Tele-Factory

One of the problems with the way teleseminars are taught right now, is they are often talked about as “Tele-SELL-inars”. Without the right level of persusasion skills (i.e., Sales), it’s difficult for a person to really believe they can be effective.

So instead, I want you to think of a teleseminar as the opportunity to create your own tele-factory. In other words, use the phone to create a line of information products.

With just one call, you can create an Audio MP3, the transcripts, and even a physical CD that you could hand out. You can either give these away to build your list, or sell them to grow your revenue.

But let’s go even further.

Is Twitter More Important Than List Building?

For the last few years, the #1 skill for building your business online has been list building.

In fact, most internet marketing teachers say without a list, you have no business. This is because it’s very difficult to sustain most online revenue models without having subscribers and customers to communicate with.

Now let’s leave that argument aside and instead debate whether Twitter is more important than list building.

The truth of the matter is, Twitter IS listbuilding. Just in a different sense of the concept. Instead of building a list of subscribers who receive email messages from you whenever you like, Twitter builds a
list of followers who are able to engage in conversation with you and your network.

This may be even more powerful than the traditional list, especially with the tendency for emails to end up getting lost in a sea of Viagra ads and bank transfer requests from the wife of the ambassador of a foreign land.

But more important than getting attention, Twitter and other social networking tools is a relationship builder, not just a list builder.

Whereas the traditional list building mentality is your subscriber list gives you access to wallets…

The new media list building mentality is your follower network gives you access to ideas, connections, market research, partnerships, and profits. This multi-directional approach is more sustainable, and honestly, a lot more fun.

What do you think? Comment below…

Bob Jenkins

p.s. Later today, I’ll be asking this question of one of the leaders of social networking and new media marketing, Deb Micek.

Deb is the author of Twitter Revolution, and Secrets of Online Persuasion. She’s my guest expert to teach you about Twitter during the Discover Social Networking virtual workshop. There’s still time for you to join
us!

Learn Facebook And Twitter Faster

You may have a feeling that social networking is a waste of time when it comes to business. Or perhaps that Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc., are all “kids stuff” for showing off the inane happenings of their lives.

The truth is, you’re right – if you don’t know how to properly use online social networking sites for business.

Used strategically, both Facebook and Twitter can be very effective tools for communicating your marketing messages to a larger audience. They are also excellent for connecting you with potential customers, and like-minded business people to share ideas with. You may find some viable partnerships form out of these sites.

The key aspect that makes social networking so attractive to business owners “in the know” is

Learn From This World Class Internet Marketing Seminar

You can learn from the best internet marketing trainers in the world at what is shaping up to be the best seminar event I’ve seen in a long time.

And you won’t believe how little it costs (more on that in a second)…

Ross Goldberg is in the middle of hosting the virtual Masters Seminars series. The last few days have had awesome content, and there’s still 4 more days to go.

(You watch from your computer – so no travel is necessary!)

Today, Mari Smith teaches about Facebook. She is my own mentor on this topic, and is the leading expert in this field. In fact, companies typically pay her several thousand dollars for an afternoon consultation.

Joel Comm, Alan Bechtold, and Erik Stafford are also on tap.

Not sure what they’ll be teaching about, but I’ve seen them present live in person, and they are always entertaining and give you actionable things to learn from.

Here’s the full (tentative) schedule: http://www.mastersseminar.com/vsschedule.pdf

Now, if you are like me, you have absolutely no time for this training this week, right?!

But if you can get just one session in this week from all the great speakers, or visit the replay page for all the sessions between now and January 1, then you need to get yourself inside this event.

The technology Ross is using is incredible, and includes webcams, chatrooms, and slides in the presentation. You don’t have to download a bunch of fancy software, or even spend money on the phone call – it’s all played from your computer.

Now, for the price…

I spoke at one of Ross’s real Masters Seminars in Chicago – and it was $297 to attend, plus all the travel, hotel, etc. And if you missed a session because you couldn’t be in the room, well, there was no recording for you.

And other seminars I’ve attended with similar content and speaker lineup have cost $497, $1997 and $4997 respectively.

This virtual seminar is a lot less than those lofty prices.

I won’t write the price down here, because you wouldn’t believe me – but it’s clearly marked on the next page…

Find Your Seat At MastersSeminars.com

I’ll be popping in and out of the seminars chat rooms all week, so hopefully we can connect.

Do yourself a favor, and learn from these experts…

Bob Jenkins

p.s. The Masters Seminars are packed with action-oriented training, without the time or space limitations of a regular seminar – and the ticket for entry is unbelievable… Sure that sounds like hype, but I think it’s just Ross’s gift to us for the holiday season.

p.p.s. Speaker presentations already available on replay: Carrie Wilkerson (BarefootExec.com), Coach Deb Micek (Blogi360), Kevin Riley, Brad Semp (Email management), Lee and Robin Collins (Hybrid Marketing), Colin McDougall (SEO), Warren Whitlock (Social media marketing), and Ross Goldberg.

Be A Gift Producer And Giver This Year

Yesterday, I wrote about how too many online gifts can be overwhelming to you over time. That lesson resulted in some great comments with different opinions.

Today, I want to share the other side of the issue: how you can be a gift giver and provide the value that people will appreciate.
