Snow Day Profits

Snow is falling again in my old school system. If I was still teaching the ninth graders, I’d be wearing my pajamas inside out and doing the “Snow Day Shuffle” – in the hopes that school would be closed.

Top 5 Business Activities You’ll Profit From In 2010

As you think of how you’ll manage your time and resources for the next year, use this list of the top 5 profit activities to guide you.

1. Build a List

First and foremost you need to be building a list.  You need to be building a list.   Now this doesn’t just mean building a list of contacts.  It doesn’t just mean building an e-mail list in an auto responder.   It means you’re building up a group of people who know who you are, who anticipate hearing from you and are willing and able to follow what you’re doing and take action on what you’re offering.

So it comes in the form of an e-mail list like a service like Aweber.  It also comes in the format of your social networks like Facebook friends or fans or Twitter followers in other resources.  You’ve got to be the person that people want to connect to.  If you’re promoting something anonymously there’s no real way for you to build a list very effectively.  People want to connect with a human being.  They want to get to know you.  They want to get to know your business, your personal life a little bit.  They just want to get to know you so they know they can trust you.

So you’ve got to be focused on building up your list.

Interview With David Perdew About NAMS 3

Split Test Result – Timing Of Lightbox Webform

If you’re not split testing parts of your webpages, you may be growing your email list slower and earning less money than you could be.

I’d like to share a quick case study of a recent split test I did with a teleseminar.

The Test

For my 30 Day Autoresponder Challenge, I interviewed Justin Premick of Aweber, and invited people to listen in. Before I sent out the invitation to the 30 DAC participants, I created 3 different versions of a web form in Aweber.

All 3 forms were exactly the same except for one thing: how much time did it take for the form to show up?

I was using the “lightbox” form on my Instant Teleseminar page, and wanted to see if it made a difference how fast the form popped in.

The 3 versions were set to pop up after 7 seconds, 15 seconds, and 22 seconds, respectively.

Weekend Warriors’ Product Creation Plan

When it comes to building your business, are you a weekend warrior? Are your Saturdays and Sundays the only time you get to work on improving your website, marketing, and product creation?

If you are a service provider, or have a full time job outside of your business, you already know that the time you can easily get caught up in the time-for-dollars tradeoff. The great promise of revenue from internet marketing is leveraging your time more efficiently.

And what that really means is you need to have at least one information product that does the marketing for you.

It can serve as a lead generation tool so you can pre-qualify your potential customers, and perhaps recommend solutions to them and earn as an affiliate.

Or you can create an information product that people are willing to pay for. With a digital product, your gross margins are extremely high. And it’s pretty fun to be working on something completely different and money comes in because of your information products.

The problem weekend warriors face is finding enough time to put a product together. So you stall and keep working on the band-aids instead of moving forward as fast as you’d like.

[Autoresponder Challenge] Day 13: Create Special Offer For New Subscribers

You may have noticed by now that I’m swinging back and forth each day between 4 different essential strategies that need to be weaved together for effective listbuilding:

Yesterday we finalized a 2 day process of creating a new opt-in offer (i.e., list bait, or free gift) by connecting the new offer to a revised squeeze page. That falls into the conversion category.

Today, we’ll be getting into the monetization area. And if we do it right, later in the challenge I’ll connect what we do today to my very favorite traffic source (more on that soon).

  • Set up the download page for that offer
