[WordPress Membership] Poll Results: Next Course Is WordPress Membership Sites With DAP

The results are in from the Spring Training poll I posted for this past weekend.

And the winner is…

Creating profitable membership sites with WordPress and Digital Access Pass

Here is the complete poll result:

I took the total numbers of “Definitely” and gave that vote 3 points. The “Probably” votes get 1 vote. So numerically…

  • Discover DAP got 371 points
  • Unstoppable Blogging 2 got 276 points
  • Teleseminar Formula 4 got 162 points

As you can see, business blogging was a close second. However, in order to teach Discover DAP, there will be a fair amount of WordPress and blogging included to make your membership site look good and be profitable.

What Happens Now?

On Wednesday, March 17, I’ll send an invitation to my existing subscribers, customers, and clients to a free preview call with Ravi Jayagopal. We’ll dive into why DAP fills the needs of savvy membership site owners better than any other script on the market, and what’s coming soon in the next update of DAP.

Help Choose My Next Virtual Workshop

So I’m patiently waiting for my SIMPLE home study course to be completed based on the live event I held 2 weeks ago. Over the next 6 weeks, the audio, video, transcripts, and bonus 30 day implementation program will be compiled and ready for release. I’m shooting for my birthday (April 26) for the program to be available.

To tell you the truth, I’m very excited about it, but it’s a daunting task bringing all the pieces together!

In the meantime, I’d like to teach a virtual workshop to help you with your business even before the SIMPLE home study course is ready. I’ve narrowed down the areas I would personally enjoy teaching this time of year to 3, and I need your help to pick which one to actually do.

So please take a quick moment to rank these 3 potential virtual workshops as it would fit what you need right now.

Snow Day Profits

Snow is falling again in my old school system. If I was still teaching the ninth graders, I’d be wearing my pajamas inside out and doing the “Snow Day Shuffle” – in the hopes that school would be closed.

Yes, it’s true – teachers love snow days even more than the students.

I’m no longer teaching school, but I can remember how much I took advantage of the snow days in the early days of creating my business.

So here’s a quick list of 10 things you can do in a single snow day to move your online business forward…

NAMS 3 Winner Shares His Success Strategy

At the Niche Affiliate Marketing System internet workshop in Atlanta, David Perdew challenged the attendees to sell a product during the weekend that had been created early on Saturday.

The product is a social media panel discussion, and David and a few volunteers put up the sales page during lunch.

The winner was Rafael Sanchez, from Venezuela, who sold 26 copies.

We held an impromptu interview with Rafael and his wife, to find out how he did it. And now, here’s Lynn Terry from Self Starters Weekly Tips with the story…

Become the next NAMS success story in August!

p.s. Congratulations also to Cindy Brock who came in second!

Top 5 Business Activities You’ll Profit From In 2010

As you think of how you’ll manage your time and resources for the next year, use this list of the top 5 profit activities to guide you.

1. Build a List

First and foremost you need to be building a list.  You need to be building a list.   Now this doesn’t just mean building a list of contacts.  It doesn’t just mean building an e-mail list in an auto responder.   It means you’re building up a group of people who know who you are, who anticipate hearing from you and are willing and able to follow what you’re doing and take action on what you’re offering.

So it comes in the form of an e-mail list like a service like Aweber.  It also comes in the format of your social networks like Facebook friends or fans or Twitter followers in other resources.  You’ve got to be the person that people want to connect to.  If you’re promoting something anonymously there’s no real way for you to build a list very effectively.  People want to connect with a human being.  They want to get to know you.  They want to get to know your business, your personal life a little bit.  They just want to get to know you so they know they can trust you.

So you’ve got to be focused on building up your list.

PLR Ethics – Are Private Label Rights Plagiarism Or Legitimate?

Are you using Private Label Rights in your business?

These are articles, blog posts, autoresponders, reports, ebooks, even videos created by somebody else, but that you can use as if you were the author.

As a former high school teacher, I’ve always had a bit of a reservation about using PLR in my own business, because I’ve always thought that I needed to be the author of my own work.

But maybe I’ve been overlooking a great way to help more people by utilizing content created by somebody else who has given permission to reuse their work.

To help answer this “ethics question” about PLR, my friend Nicole Dean sent me this video to share with you.

And if PLR fits your criteria, check out Nicole’s Easy PLR resource center for high quality niche PLR packs.

Nicole will be one of a handful of VIPs I’ve specifically invited to help you in key areas of your business. She’s also a genius when it comes to outsourcing, managing affiliate programs, and quick product creation.

[Create A Rebrandable Report] Step 5: Rebrand The Report

My final step in this mini-challenge of creating a rebrandable report is to make the report umm….. rebrandable.

This sounds complicated, and it can be a bit confusing the first time you do it. But it’s a pretty easy process and is worth any of the aggravation you may go through on your first attempts.

viral pdf rebrandingFirst, I’ll be using the Viral PDF Silver ebook rebranding software to do this. I recommend this over the classic version because the file to rebrand requires less steps for your readers. You don’t have to send a .zip file with the rebrander and the PDF; this requires your end user to unzip, open the brander, and drag in the PDF. Yes, that should be simple enough, but it’s amazing how many people still get frustrated with this. ViralPDF Silver makes 1 file (an .exe file) that your user downloads and runs. The PDF is already inside the file.

Although it’s more expensive than the classic, I think this feature makes Silver really worth it. Plus, with the Silver edition, your affiliate link back to ViralPDF is already embedded automatically in the brander, so you’re likely to see your investment come back to you in affiliate commissions – and then some.

I’ll share the steps below for making the report rebrandable, but this also shown step-by-step for customers of ViralPDF.

[Create A Rebrandable Report] Step 4: Publish The Report

The next step in the report creation process is to publish my Word Document (or Open Office) as a PDF.

It used to be that you had to buy Adobe professional for this to work. Then there were free PDF printers you could add on. But now, both Microsoft Word and Open Office support PDF printing internally.

All I need to do in Word is go to File, Save As and choose the PDF option. In Open Office, it’s File, Export as PDF. I want to choose a name that’s going to be search engine friendly – Google loves PDFs.

The name also helps your readers find it on their computer later. So don’t just pick a name like report1.pdf.

Weekend Warriors’ Product Creation Plan

When it comes to building your business, are you a weekend warrior? Are your Saturdays and Sundays the only time you get to work on improving your website, marketing, and product creation?

If you are a service provider, or have a full time job outside of your business, you already know that the time you can easily get caught up in the time-for-dollars tradeoff. The great promise of revenue from internet marketing is leveraging your time more efficiently.

And what that really means is you need to have at least one information product that does the marketing for you.

It can serve as a lead generation tool so you can pre-qualify your potential customers, and perhaps recommend solutions to them and earn as an affiliate.

Or you can create an information product that people are willing to pay for. With a digital product, your gross margins are extremely high. And it’s pretty fun to be working on something completely different and money comes in because of your information products.

The problem weekend warriors face is finding enough time to put a product together. So you stall and keep working on the band-aids instead of moving forward as fast as you’d like.

[Create A Rebrandable Report] Step 3: Format The Report

I’m definitely disappointed that I wasn’t able to finish my report by Monday, although I did get a late draft version in the hands of a few readers for feedback.

In any case, the content is finished, and it’s time to format the report. This is something you can easily send to a VA, but if you’re handy around Microsoft Word, formatting can be done quite quickly. Don’t spend too much time on it, but you do want your report to look a little better than something you wrote in high school.

Most formatting is done simply by working on the text sizes and fonts. You want the text to be easy to read and skim. When you write reports that will be read as PDFs (i.e., on the computer screen), you want to use a sans-serif font. Serifs are those ticks at the start and end of a letter that help readers in print, but can get fuzzy on the screen.

  • Times New Roman is a serif font.
  • Arial is a sans-serif font.

See the difference?

[Create A Rebrandable Report] Step 1: Outline The Free Report Content

Since we had so much fun with the 30 Day Autoresponder Challenge, I’m going to do another docu-blog experiment.

This time, it’s just going to be 4-6 posts, and take less than a week.

I’m going to be sharing what I’m doing to create a free, rebrandable report that I can use to build my list in a certain topic, while also giving affiliates a handy tool to make more sales.

Since I’ve recently published the ebook series version of Teleseminar Formula, my report will attract attention to that site, as well as my IM Success Library.

To create my report, I’m going to be following my own training videos in my Discover Product Creation course, which is included in the IM Success Library Gold membership.

Here are the steps in brief:

  • Outline the content
  • Write the content
  • Format for the web
  • Upload it online
  • Spread the word
  • Bonus: Make it rebrandable for affiliates

I’m not sure how long it will take, but I’m targeting Monday as the finish line.

So let’s get started with step 1.
