Learn Internet Marketing Strategies For Your Business

We’re getting to the end of the second week of the 30 Day Autoresponder Challenge! It’s been a great 14 days so far, and I’m stoked about the progress of my new list that I’ve been putting off for so long.

Yesterday, I showed you how I am using a collection of 3 teleseminars to monetize my list at the point of subscription. At the same time, I’ve made this offer as irresistible as I can, saving my new subscribers money whether they buy the special offer price, or the standard price.

Today, I need to connect that offer to a payment system, and then to my list. So here are the tasks:

• Set up payment button at Paypal
• Put the button on the sales page
• Make the special offer page a true OTO
• Put a higher price button on the standard offer page
• Point my confirmation link to the sales page
• Make sure it all works

I’m often asked if I have any particular strategies I’m using in business that most people are either ignoring or don’t know about.

Believe it or not, I’m a fan of American Idol. I like the stories of the contestants, watching the season unfold. I also like to study the marketing that they do in the show (like their not so subtle displays of Coca-cola cups for the judges, even though they are filled with water – maybe Dasani?).

While I watch the show I try to relate it to business ideas (this helps me “justify” watching it).

So I was watching the results show yesterday (I DVR it so I can watch it in about 30 minutes instead of an hour), and the business idea was a simple one: you have to pick a winner, even when it’s tough.

I had a great mastermind lunch with my local group organized by my local Wilmington realtor, Alex Paen.

He set the topic today as lead generation strategies and how to get referrals. Now everybody at that meeting is an offline business professional. Home security, financial planning, lawyer/legal, insurance, etc.

So to help them understand how they can use internet marketing for their lead generation, and reduce their costs of customer acquisition, I created a mindmap (you know how much I love mindmaps!).

To make it as easy to understand as I could, I focused the map on the “big picture” so they could see the overall system, and what pieces should be put into place over time. Figured you’d probably get a lot of use out of it as well.

Every productivity expert will give you their opinion about how to get more things done in the same amount of time.

They’ll show you how to make to do lists, categorize them with 1, 2, 3, or A, B, C and try to get you to eliminate tasks off your list.

These methods can be helpful for some, but if it’s not working for you take a look at mind maps.

Mind maps are simply visual representations of ideas. You’ve probably used them before to organize your thoughts on a business project, or back in school when you were thinking about writing a research paper.

There are plenty of mind mapping software programs out there, from free to expensive. All have their own merits, but my favorite one to use is Freemind.

This won the medal for me because it’s simple, uses a hierarchical structure, exports maps as images, PDFs, and text outlines.

Joanna and I are off to Poland for two weeks!

We’re both pretty excited to make the trip, although she’s petrified of flying. She keeps asking if we can take a boat instead. :)

We’ll be flying to Warsaw via Atlanta and London. After a day visiting with her brother in the capital, we’ll make the 6 hour drive to Debrzno on Friday.

As you can imagine, I’ll be trying my best to stay “unplugged” on vacation. So I’d like to remind you of how I can still help you while I’m away.
