FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Download Word Version Of This Press Release

Wilmington, NC – February 12, 2010 – Local resident, Bob Jenkins, professional trainer and consultant to the Internet marketing industry, has created a small business training conference attracting speakers and attendees from all over the world to be held in Wilmington, February 26-28, 2010.

A popular speaker at Internet marketing conferences around the US, Jenkins’ School for Information Marketing Profits – Live Event, or SIMPLE (http://www.SIMPLE10K.com), is designed for service professionals and independent business owners.

According to Jenkins, the decision to hold the event in his hometown was an easy one. “Our local area is often overlooked as an exciting and viable event location,” he says. “I wanted to show business professionals and event planners that Wilmington has excellent business opportunities in a beautiful location.”

SIMPLE will be held at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside.

In addition to Jenkins, the three-day conference features training sessions by Adam Urbanski, Felicia Slattery, Jacqueline Wales, and Lon Naylor.

The SIMPLE training program is presented in a three-phase system for building a profitable online business based on the knowledge and experience of an entrepreneur.

  1. How to make money as a credible affiliate
  2. How to make money as a product creator and solution provider
  3. How to make money with your own affiliate program

The three-day event is $1897, with a bonus guest ticket. Seating is limited and registration needs to be made in advance at http://www.SIMPLE10K.com

Valentine’s Day: Does Your Business Love You Back?

If you’re like most entrepreneurs, you likely spend as much if not more time with your business as you do with your actual Valentine.

The question to ask yourself is with all the love and devotion you give to your business, is it returning the feelings back?  Or is does it seem like a one-way street?

How can you improve that relationship?

Well, for one thing, you can’t go cheating on your business.

My First Event Changed Everything

We’re a few days away from SIMPLE, and for many of the people coming, it will be their very first event. I’m honored and privileged to host that experience for them.

And it reminds me of my very first event I ever attended.

What a jump start that was for my business! But I almost didn’t go.

I was still working full time then. It wasn’t easy to take off work. In all ten years in the classroom I missed a total of 11 days!

But something in my gut told me that I needed to get there. I had been trying to get going with my internet marketing business and was slowly gaining traction. This was in September of 2006. I had invested about $3000 in mentoring at that point; another $4000 in wasted Adwords; and lots of little expenses on ebooks and gizmos that added up to a lot, especially on my teaching salary.

Fortunately, the event – The Internet Marketing Main Event II – was in Baltimore. Literally 15 minutes from my house. If it wasn’t so close, I would have let any number of excuses get in my way for going.

Boy would that have been a tragic mistake!

Fishbowl Coaching With My Brother Setting Up His Internet Marketing Site

Over at IM Success Library, I’ve started coaching my brother through the start up phases of his new website, RestaurantManagerSecrets.com.

So that you can learn along with him, and see the exact strategic and tactical advice is the same for you as it is for my brother, you can eavesdrop through the process. This is called “Fishbowl Coaching”, where I coach & teach him, but you get to watch along the way.

Here’s a segment of the first session we did earlier in the week. The entire first session was based on getting a game plan together for the 3-phases of the SIMPLE formula, and focusing on phase 1, which is connecting to an appropriate affiliate product.

But before we get to the product, it was important to do a few things on the back side of his website.

Take a look!

And if you’d like to learn from the rest of Session 1, and be part of the next 2 sessions, jump over to the IMSL Case Study page.

Bob Jenkins

p.s. And for more help with your cPanel and the back side of your website, go to DiscovercPanel.com, or upgrade your account at IMSL to the Gold or Platinum level.

I Was The Wizard Of Oz

I bet you didn’t know that I used to have a thriving acting career!

It’s true – back in elementary school :)

Seriously, in 4th grade, I was the Wizard of Oz (and the corresponding traveling carnival guy). Funny looking back on that now how that role taught me a business lesson years later.

In the play, I got to say the infamous line, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Dorothy and her entourage have traveled down the Yellow Brick Road seeking the one thing they want the most (to go home, a heart, a brain, courage). And they believe that the Wizard and all his wizardry can provide it.

The truth that’s revealed is each of them already had what they were looking for inside. They just needed someone outside who could point the way for them. Somebody who could see what they couldn’t because of something else getting in the way.

The Wizard appears to be magical, but when the curtain is drawn (by Toto, remember?), there are simple mechanics at work.

Snow Day Profits

Snow is falling again in my old school system. If I was still teaching the ninth graders, I’d be wearing my pajamas inside out and doing the “Snow Day Shuffle” – in the hopes that school would be closed.

Yes, it’s true – teachers love snow days even more than the students.

I’m no longer teaching school, but I can remember how much I took advantage of the snow days in the early days of creating my business.

So here’s a quick list of 10 things you can do in a single snow day to move your online business forward…

Remember To Pack (Then Bring) Your Luggage

One of the funniest things at NAMS was seeing Dan Morris wearing clothes with the tags still on. The author of the NAMS Preparation Guide had forgotten one critical element of the to-do list…

Check out his explanation, but don’t take any sips of coffee or tea before watching…

Check out Dan’s website at LettersFromDan.com, and be sure to get to the next NAMS so you can crack up with Dan’s sense of humor in person.

NAMS 3 Winner Shares His Success Strategy

At the Niche Affiliate Marketing System internet workshop in Atlanta, David Perdew challenged the attendees to sell a product during the weekend that had been created early on Saturday.

The product is a social media panel discussion, and David and a few volunteers put up the sales page during lunch.

The winner was Rafael Sanchez, from Venezuela, who sold 26 copies.

We held an impromptu interview with Rafael and his wife, to find out how he did it. And now, here’s Lynn Terry from Self Starters Weekly Tips with the story…

Become the next NAMS success story in August!

Bob Jenkins

p.s. Congratulations also to Cindy Brock who came in second!

Friday Freebie For You

I’m at NAMS now after an awesome 2 day mastermind in Las Vegas.

I’m a bit exhausted, to tell you the truth, since I had to fly overnight through Philly to get to Atlanta.

Anyway, I have a Friday freebie for you that I think you’ll really like.

Top 5 Business Activities You’ll Profit From In 2010

As you think of how you’ll manage your time and resources for the next year, use this list of the top 5 profit activities to guide you.

1. Build a List

First and foremost you need to be building a list.  You need to be building a list.   Now this doesn’t just mean building a list of contacts.  It doesn’t just mean building an e-mail list in an auto responder.   It means you’re building up a group of people who know who you are, who anticipate hearing from you and are willing and able to follow what you’re doing and take action on what you’re offering.

So it comes in the form of an e-mail list like a service like Aweber.  It also comes in the format of your social networks like Facebook friends or fans or Twitter followers in other resources.  You’ve got to be the person that people want to connect to.  If you’re promoting something anonymously there’s no real way for you to build a list very effectively.  People want to connect with a human being.  They want to get to know you.  They want to get to know your business, your personal life a little bit.  They just want to get to know you so they know they can trust you.

So you’ve got to be focused on building up your list.
