Ask Bob The Teacher

Assuming you have an affiliate program, you probably want to know ways to get more activity - more traffic, more sales, more affiliates promoting, etc.

At a recent internet marketing conference, I met an incredibly intelligent affiliate manager who gave me some excellent ideas for my own programs.

My favorite part of going to live events is meeting people in person.

Recently, I met Lynn Terry, who my accountability partner, Scott Tousignant, had told me I had to connect with because of how similar are business ethics are. She’s also a top blogger and affiliate marketer, so it was great to learn that she was going to be at Willie Crawford’s event in Orlando.

On several occasions throughout the weekend, Lynn and I talked about what people are missing about affiliate marketing. She now earns about 75% of her income promoting other people’s products, and her presentation during the event showcased many of her methods.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve been putting off purchasing a top-quality microphone for my internet marketing business for two reasons: I like to “Take Action, Revise Later”, and I always thought that great microphones would cost several hundred dollars.

So I’ve been using a $45 headset from Logitech that’s been working pretty well. Except that it has these huge ear pads, and it’s kind of heavy and hot after a while.

Also, I’ve been seeing these guys on Ustream and online videos using those mics that look more like they are in a radio studio - and it just looks really cool.

Whenever I’m wondering about online video or audio, I turn to my friend Lon Naylor. He and I go way back - we met on the Butterfly Marketing forum in 2006, and finally in person in September later that year. He’s an ex-Microsoft guy and really knows his stuff. (Don’t believe, me? Anyway, I sent him a tweet a few days ago, asking what mic I should get.

He told me to go grab an Audio Technica USB mic from Amazon. It’s usually about $250, but he had a beat on it that it was a lot cheaper.

So i just ordered it at Amazon, and can’t wait to get it. Next time I do a Ustream show for Bob The Teacher TV, you’ll be able to see it in action.
