Joanna and I are off to Poland for two weeks!

We’re both pretty excited to make the trip, although she’s petrified of flying. She keeps asking if we can take a boat instead. :)

We’ll be flying to Warsaw via Atlanta and London. After a day visiting with her brother in the capital, we’ll make the 6 hour drive to Debrzno on Friday.

As you can imagine, I’ll be trying my best to stay “unplugged” on vacation. So I’d like to remind you of how I can still help you while I’m away.

Last weekend, I held a live webinar with 30+ people, helping them set up their first website.  Although it was well attended, and I received excellent feedback overall, I learned a few things…

Walking a person through as an example worked really well

Giving people time between steps was essential

Getting the email from the hosting company took longer than expected

3 hours is an awful long time for a webinar

Charging for the webinar only after it was over, AND if I “deserve” it was an interesting experiment worth repeating.

So this week it’s Thanksgiving, and I’m considering holding another webinar this Saturday.  Of course, I’ll be making some changes.

But before I go through the trouble of setting that up, I need to see if you will be up for attending it.

So if you missed out on the last one, or need a refresher, let me know now by posting a comment below.

And in case you aren’t sure what this is about… during the webinar, you will watch, learn, and then DO the following:

During the first hour:

1) Register your domain name, and do so strategically for your business

2) Setup hosting (followed by a long break - like 2 hours), picking the right hosting plan at the right host, etc.

During the second hour:

3) Connect your new domain name to your hosting account

4) Tour your website’s cPanel

5) Add some basic content to your webpage

Tomorrow’s the big day!

Joanna and I are moving to North Carolina, taking our two cats, Maynard and Keenan on a 7 hour journey to Wilmington after the closing on my house here.

It’s an exciting time for us. Although I’ve moved way too many times in the past, none of them have really been my choice.

But this time, Joanna and I are getting to plan every detail freely.

Our house is still being built (should be finished by the end of October), so we’re renting a place for a few weeks in between.

In between places, we get to monitor the construction, pick out the carpet, countertops, tile, etc., of our new place. (I’ll be showing a film on my blog next week)…

So what does this have to do with you?

Well, first of all, the freedom to move to a new place by choice is due to the success I’ve had over the last year, and for that I owe you a sincere thank you.

Without your trust in my services, recommendations, and products, this would simply not be possible.

So really — thank you!

Secondly, I know that I’m really lucky to have this option and freedom to move.

That doesn’t always happen.

I’ve been trying to recover from the 3 hour time difference I got used to while in San Francisco this past weekend for the World Internet Main Event, but this afternoon, I’m off to Poland, where another 6 hour time difference awaits.

Joanna and I are flying over to spend time with her family (all of them live in her native country) before we move in a couple of weeks to North Carolina.

Last time we went to Poland, we saw a wild boar in the middle of the road, so who knows what we’ll see this time.

Although Chris Morris and I had met online before collaborating on our cPanel How To Videos, we had never met in person. Turns out he’s really shy in groups of people. And virtually petrified of public speaking.

At least he was.

Travelling and new places seem to bring new horizons in people, and for Chris it was no different. He used the opportunity to get out of his shell.
