With a new confirmation page in place, I’m ready to turn my attention back to the content of my autoresponder series.

Today’s action steps:

  • Analyze survey results
  • Write message 7

Let’s get started…

Analyze Survey Results

It’s been another week since the survey has been available to members. I don’t have too many more responses (my big promotion was too recent for my new readers to have seen the survey yet). But I can still see if there have been any big changes to the early results.

I go back to Survey Monkey and discover that the big challenges people are facing remain the same; website traffic and online sales are at the top, followed closely by list building and lead generation.

So my message 7 should still address these issues.

Focus and technical know-how are still big hurdles as well (shocking!), so I’ll be sure to relate these two to the biggest needs as well.

Plan Out Message 7

When I sent out message 5, I encouraged my readers to get a free video on list building as part of the IM Success Library membership. Then in message 6, I sent them a free report on web hosting.

So first of all, I want to write message 7 with a reminder of these two lessons. Just in case they missed the earlier message or got distracted from finishing either one. It’s important to me that my readers don’t just get my free lessons, but they actually “get” the knowledge I’m teaching within them.

I also know that message 7 is going to be 28 days from when they first joined. So as they are wrapping up the first month, we’re hitting a critical point in our relationship. I really need to overdeliver at this point to make sure they continue to come back to me for more training, and continue to read my messages.

Most of my messages to this point have been relatively short, with a link to a more extended lesson (blog post, report, video, etc.). This message I want to purposely write the lesson within the email.

I also want to add a profit center in this email. Since I’m talking about traffic and sales, and both rely heavily on list building, I’ll put in another recommendation for Aweber as the solution of choice for list building.

I’ll discuss the importance of turning search engine and referral traffic into internal traffic, since the latter is the best converting traffic you can have. Internal traffic means people that already know you who keep coming back because they are existing customers and/or subscribers to your email list or RSS feed.

This lesson is also designed to emphasize the idea of a traffic net. Getting traffic may seem like the most important thing to a business owner, but it’s really about making sure you maximize any traffic you get by bringing them into a relationship with you: first as a subscriber, and sooner or later as a customer. When you put this kind of system in place, it pays off dividends for a long time to come.

With message 7 complete, I’ll turn back to statistics tomorrow, using Aweber’s analytic tools.

p.s. Use message 7 as your opportunity to give a more in-depth lesson. Keep them excited and engaged to be a part of your world.
